Do Not Worry

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

Matthew 6 v 25-26.

The phrase 'do not worry' is often said to appease ones nerves. It is often said too easily. But does it help?

We worry about so much in life, How are my kids? What about my house? How will I pay for this bill? I need food and shelter.

Inheriting the Kingdom of God is real. It is ours to have if we follow Jesus and give our lives to him. Choose to hold on to the things of this world and you will perish with them. Choose to set your eyes on spiritual wealth through Jesus and you will have everlasting life.

We have a promise, we have a future, we have a hope.

I’m not saying to stop trying. Keep working for the freedom that money can provide.  You are allowed to want beautiful things and security, but do not worship them. Do not fret over them. God will provide. He will promote you in your diligence.  An open hand is able to receive the gift.  A clenched hand, unable to let go, can never gain. 
 

Open your hands and your hearts. Let worry pass away and focus on receiving the gifts your Father has been preparing for you all your life. He will give you more than you can ever imagine.
